A plane comes crashing down
you are just a passenger
Speaking words that break your heart,
every truth you believed comes untied.
As someone you loves lies in the bed ready to breathe their last breath,
tears stream down your face, facing the inevitable.
Weeks become 90 plus hours of studying,
yet you fail your test.
The bird hits your windshield splattering blood and guts,
impaled upon your wiper, you scream.
Fighting to protect the ones you love and keep them from your tragedy,
they find their way into the back of a cop car.
The ocean waves come racing and rushing in,
a bigger much forceful one sweeps in a pulls you away.
The whirlpool has you twisting back and forth and around,
you feel yourself losing your breath slowly.
When everything else fails and your at an end,
a small miracle reaches you in a simple word and gesture.
Your card was denied and that day becomes worse,
a kind act picks you up and buys.
When everything thing is imbalanced,
the wind has a way of correcting it again.
The land is parched,
the flood rejuvenates it.
As your boat floats slowly to the harbor,
the water carries it,
and you think…
I HAVE NO CONTROL.
